Sean Hages is an interdisciplinary artist based in Detroit, Michigan. Sean predominantly works as an installation artist and a sculptor. His award winning artwork has exhibited internationally in a variety of contexts ranging from galleries to music festivals. Sean has grown deeply involved with the local art scene since moving to Detroit in 2000, working as an arts instructor, fabricator, artist, curator and an arts advocate.
“When I alter the world in an intentional manner I am acting as an artist. The process can be as simple as moving a pebble or planting an idea. An artist changes the world around themselves: rearranges, organizes or disorganizes, represents and redefines. I recognize my purpose is to engender change in the world.”
